Synchronicity on “The Alice Journal” Launch Day
Share
The Launch Day, May 4th, had arrived. It turned out to be a beautiful day, with a saturated blue sky and scattered shining clouds. The day was bright, a contrast to the recent stormy, cloudy days here in LA.
Launching on this day was bittersweet because it meant I gave up a could-be high-potential Kickstarter launch. I never did anything like Kickstarter before. My hope was to just give this journal a good start. But even before actually trying, I realized there wasn’t enough interest to pull off a Kickstarter. I was disappointed.
I decided to just launch the journal on my website. I researched a good day to launch and found this special day: May 4th, literally the day Alice went to Wonderland. It was the perfect day to launch The Alice Journal. It felt like a miracle.
We decided to celebrate the launch at one of our favorite cafes. We love this cafe, as do many other people. It is very popular, and there's very limited inside table seating (just four). That is the reason we don’t go often. But on this day, I was in the mood for my favorite dessert drink.
As we neared the cafe, I realized it was on Alice St., which I had never consciously registered.
When we arrived, to our delight, two seats were available. When I sat down and looked out the window, I saw a street sign. It said, Alice! Even though we’d been to this cafe several times, I had never seen the sign before because I always sat in a different seat, which was occupied today.
What a synchronicity!
The word “synchronicity” was introduced by psychotherapist Carl Jung. It is defined as “the coincidental occurrence of events that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality.” It shows a connection between the mind and reality offering guidance for personal growth.
Several synchronicities occurred while I was creating The Alice Journal. I mentioned them in the book as an author's note.
I realize my experience with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was the ultimate example of synchronicity. I needed direction, guidance, and encouragement when I picked up the book. Then I received what I needed. That inspired the creation of The Alice Journal.
The synchronicity on the launch day made me happy. Alice literally showed up and cheered me on.
